Founder's note ยท 5 July 2026
I have spent my working life in the transformer industry โ around factories, test bays and tender documents, between Dubai, India and Europe. It is an industry that quietly keeps the lights on for eight billion people, and it is having its biggest decade since electrification: grid build-outs, data centres, renewables, and lead times that stretch to four years.
Yet the industry's information is strangely hard to reach. Market news is scattered across regional outlets in five languages. Exhibition dates live in a hundred separate websites. There is no single list of the world's transformer factories. And if a young engineer asks "how is a transformer actually designed?", the honest answer has been: work in a factory for ten years, or buy a $300 textbook.
TransformerPath is my attempt to fix that, in public, one page at a time:
The site is independent. It is not owned by any manufacturer or supplier, and news is never for sale โ revenue comes from clearly-labelled sponsorships and directory listings, so the reading stays free.
What is next: an RFQ board connecting buyers with makers, richer directory profiles, and more original analysis from people who actually build and buy this equipment. If that is the industry you work in, I would value your input โ what should exist here that does not?
