IEC vs IEEE Transformer Standards: What Is the Difference?

IEC 60076 is the global power-transformer series; IEEE C57 (and ANSI/NEMA) is the North American equivalent. Both cover ratings, design and testing but with different defaults.
Key differences
IEEE uses 60 Hz as the base, defines temperature rise at 65 C (and 55/65 C options), with its own BIL and test levels; IEC uses 50 Hz commonly and its own temperature-rise and insulation classes. Vector groups, impedance tolerances and cooling codes also differ.
What to do
Specify the standard explicitly (e.g. IEC 60076-1 and -2, or IEEE C57.12.00) and note the parameters that differ, so the design, tests and acceptance are unambiguous.
