Load growth from data centres, electric vehicles and renewabless, plus ageing-grid replacement, has pushed order books out. Grid-technology OEMs report multi-year backlogs and high book-to-bill ratios.

Material bottlenecks

Grain-oriented electrical steel (CRGO), high-grade copper, pressboard, aramid and bushings are constrained, so even with factory capacity the material chain limits output.
